Simply From The Heart

Terms of Use

Last updated July 28, 2026

These terms govern your use of the websites, session-request service, volunteer portal, and mobile apps (the “Services”) operated by Simply From The Heart NFP (“SFTH”), an Illinois 501(c)(3) nonprofit. By using the Services you agree to these terms.

Our services

SFTH provides complimentary therapeutic personal care services (“pamper sessions”) to critical and terminal care patients, coordinated through our Services. Sessions are provided by volunteers as a charitable service. SFTH is not a healthcare provider and nothing in the Services is medical advice. Sessions are subject to availability, hospital policies, and the signed patient consent.

Session requests & consent

Session requests must be truthful and submitted by the patient or someone authorized to act for them; requests for minors require a parent or legal guardian. Sessions are delivered only under a signed consent, and the electronic signature you provide has the same effect as a handwritten one.

Volunteer accounts

Volunteer accounts are personal to you. Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. Volunteer participation is subject to our application, screening, and training requirements, and SFTH may approve, suspend, or remove volunteer accounts at its discretion to protect the patients and communities we serve. You can delete your account at any time in the portal or app.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the Services: no false requests or applications, no attempting to access other people’s data, no interfering with the operation or security of the Services, and no use of the Services to harass or harm anyone.

Donations & events

Donations are processed by third-party platforms and are subject to their terms; donations are generally non-refundable. Event tickets and RSVPs are subject to the specific event’s details. SFTH is a registered 501(c)(3); consult your tax advisor about deductibility.

Intellectual property

The Services and their content (including the SFTH name, logo, and imagery) belong to SFTH or its licensors. You may share links and use our materials to support our mission, but please don’t reuse our branding or patients’ images without permission.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Services are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, SFTH disclaims warranties of any kind and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing alters the terms of a signed patient consent.

General

These terms are governed by Illinois law. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. We may update these terms from time to time; material changes will be posted here with a new date. Questions: info@sftheart.org.
